Ukraine was Hit by a Russian Magic Missile
Ukraine claims to have evidence that Russia has fired an advanced hypersonic missile, which specialists say is almost impossible to shoot down, for the first time in the nearly 2-year-old war.
The Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise said debris found after the February 7 attack on Ukraine’s capital demonstrated the Russian military’s deployment of Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles.
According to them as quoted from CNN, observations of components and fragments, identification of parts and spare parts, as well as their characteristics, show the application of Zircon for the first time in combat.
The Telegram post was accompanied by a video showing dozens of debris believed to be from the new missile. Ukrainian authorities reported four people killed and 38 injured in Kyiv during the February 7 attack, but no casualties were immediately linked to the Zircon attack.
Amazing Zircon Missile Russian
This Zircon missile was probably fired from a Russian warship. Specialists say the Zircon is, if it lives up to the Russian government’s claims, a formidable weapon. Its hypersonic speed makes it invulnerable to even the best Western missile defenses, such as the Patriot,
According to the United States-based Missile Defense Alliance (MDAA), its speed is Mach 8 or almost 9,900 kilometers per hour. Hypersonic is defined as speeds above Mach 5.
“If such news is accurate, the Zircon missile will be the fastest in the world, making it almost impossible to defend against it due to its speed alone,” the alliance said.
“During flight, the missile is completely covered by a plasma cloud that absorbs radio frequency light and makes the missile invisible to radar. This allows the missile to remain undetected on its way to the target,” he said.
Apart from that, MDAA said the Zircon is a maneuverable anti-ship hypersonic cruise missile with a range of between 500 and 1,000 kilometers. When the Russian naval frigate Admiral Gorshkov embarked https://www.dpdppnipacitan.com on a combat mission last January, Vladimir Putin boasted about the Zircon missiles carried by the ship.
“This has no equal in any country in the world,” said Putin. “I am confident that such powerful weapons will protect Russia from potential external threats and help ensure our country’s national interests,” he added.
