How To Prepare For WoW Cataclysm Classic? – 5 Essential Steps For Success
While the launch of the highly anticipated WoW Cataclysm Classic expansion might seem far off, the time to prepare is now. Don’t wait for the storm to hit—get ahead of the curve with these 5 proactive steps I’ve carefully selected. Discover how just a few simple actions today can make a world of difference when Cataclysm finally arrives.
1. Accumulate Enough Gold
In each expansion, accumulating gold is a common objective. However, for Cataclysm, this holds particularly true compared to previous expansions in WoW Classic.
Not only will you need Cataclysm Gold to maximize your professions, which will require several thousand gold upon release, but crafting core items at 525 will demand a considerable amount of rare materials, which will be exorbitantly expensive at launch. Additionally, Tailoring, Leatherworking, and Blacksmithing will offer two 359 item level BoE pieces tied to their profession, which will serve as pre-BiS gear for nearly every class.
With the release of the first raid tier, expect numerous groups to farm trash in the Bastion of Twilight for BoE drops. Competent raiders will prioritize acquiring one or two of these pieces before progressing further.
Potions will command a high price, and flasks will be costly before guilds gain access to improved Cauldrons.
It’s prudent to amass a substantial amount of gold, particularly if you aim to engage in heroic raiding during the initial weeks of Cataclysm. A sum of less than 200,000 WoW Cataclysm Gold may leave you ill-equipped for the challenges ahead.
2. Immediately Begin Farming Justice Points
The current Badge/Emblem System underwent restructuring into the Justice and Valor Point system in Cataclysm. This entails the necessity to convert our existing currency.
Any remaining Emblems of Heroism, Valor, and Conquest will be exchanged for 5.5 WoW Cataclysm Classic Gold each. While this represents a decent amount of currency, on most servers, it may be more economically efficient to convert emblems into gems for immediate sale rather than awaiting the conversion.
But we are interested in the Emblems of Frost and Emblems of Triumph. These were exchanged for Justice Points at a rate of 11.58 Justice Points per emblem with the initial release of Cataclysm. In Cataclysm, Justice Points will function as the game’s currency. With them, we can purchase 346 item level blue grade items, some of which are rated as the Best in Slot for heroic content.
Consequently, entering Cataclysm with the maximum cap of 4,000 Justice Points is advantageous. To achieve this cap upon conversion, a combination of 346 Emblems of Frost and Triumph will be required. Furthermore, it’s feasible to accumulate an additional 2,666 Emblems before Cataclysm’s arrival.
The introduction of patch 4.1 included a PvP vendor to encourage continued participation in battlegrounds, even after Honor ceased to be necessary for gear. Honor can now be converted into crafting materials or Justice Points. For instance, a cap of 4,000 Honor will translate to 2,666 Justice Points.
While reaching the Honor cap of 75,000 may seem daunting, it will yield 18,000 new Honor. The remaining Honor can be obtained through Arena Points, Stone Keeper’s Shards, or various other Marks of Honor. Achieving this Honor cap should be feasible with the upcoming patch.
3. Master Your Professions
If you’re similar to me, you’ve raised engineering to 410 on each significant character for its unused benefits and halted there.
Now is the opportune moment to advance it all the way up to 450. Additionally, consider which professions you may wish to change in Cataclysm. For instance, on my main Death Knight, I intend to abandon Jewelcrafting shortly before the pre-patch and pursue Alchemy for the initial tier of raiding. Once I’ve obtained a replacement trinket for my Alchemy one, I plan to revert to either Jewelcrafting or Blacksmithing to capitalize on the Mastery benefits offered by those professions.
Hence, if you’re contemplating a similar approach, ensuring preparedness with profession kits is advisable. Some professional specializations are undergoing alterations. For instance, the materials required for transmutation specialization quests will shift from Primal Might to Truegold. Trust me, Truegold will be exceedingly expensive at the outset of Cataclysm. Therefore, it’s essential to complete specialization before Cataclysm commences.
Prior to the invasion of bots causing chaos and inflating raw material prices, it’s wise to anticipate this scenario. Therefore, preparing a level 80 character with 450 Mining and Herbalism is prudent. In Cataclysm, you’ll have the capability to track both Mining and Herbalism simultaneously without relying on tools like WeakAuras.
4. Prepare Your Alts
Leveling any alt you might want to play in Cataclysm to level 80 is an obvious choice, but it’s also beneficial to equip them somewhat to aid in the leveling process.
In the pre-patch, Wrathful gear will be accessible through Honor, allowing those alts left behind in Northrend to quickly catch up by participating in Wintergrasp battles every 3 hours.
However, it’s important not to go overboard or spend excessively in GDKPs to outfit alts for Cataclysm. While the leveling content is straightforward, and right from the outset, you can obtain 272 gear, which is nearly equivalent to 125 Heroic gear, it may be worth considering buying IGGM WOW Cataclysm Classic Boosting services to expedite the process.
Unlike in Wrath of the Lich King, where some pieces from Sunwell were considered pre-BiS as you reached the maximum level, this won’t be the case in Cataclysm. Even the powerful Shadowmourne is comparable to a basic weapon obtained from your very first normal dungeon.
5. Organize The Banks & Bags For Your Character
If you’re in a situation similar to mine, the banks across all your characters likely resemble this at present. Additionally, I’m aware that Transmogrification is on the horizon, prompting the desire to retain some of those old tier pieces.
However, it’s prudent to begin purging duplicates, outdated rings, and miscellaneous event items at this juncture. Nevertheless, there’s an undeniable sense of satisfaction in maintaining an organized and clutter-free inventory.
